Ejisu By-election: A vote for an independent candidate is a vote for NDC – Bawumia

Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has appealed to voters in Ejisu not to vote for an independent candidate.

The Vice President claimed that voting for an independent candidate will benefit the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He has therefore appealed to them to vote massively for the party’s candidate, Kwabena Boateng.

He also urged the voters not to split their votes since tabt will benefit the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its presidential candidate John Mahama.

He appealed to the voters when he addressed the final rally organized by the NPP ahead of April 30, 2024 Ejisu by-election.

“The NPP government has done more to better the lives of Ejisu residents than the NDC. Nothing worked during the NDC era…MPs do not sponsor initiatives; rather, they advocate for those proposed by the current government. In parliament, the NPP has 138 seats, including the independent candidate, whereas the NDC has 137. So, voting for an independent means handing over power to the NDC and John Mahama.

“And so that is why the NDC did not field a candidate for this by-election, they are sponsoring the independent candidate” , he stated. He went on to say “Let’s all come out in our numbers on election day and vote massively for Lawyer Kwabena Boateng to continue the late John Kumah’s work.”
