A total of 106,812 registered voters are expected to cast their ballots in the Ejisu by-election, which is scheduled for today, April 30, 2024.
The by-election will be held at 204 polling stations across the constituency.
Six candidates are contesting the by-election.
There are three independent candidates and three political parties.
The independent candidates are a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for the area and former Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, Gabriel Agyemang Joseph, and Attakorah Joseph.
The candidates for the political parties are Esther Osei of the CPP, Kwabena Boateng of the NPP, and Beatrice Boakye of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG).
Esther Osei (CPP) is first on the ballot; Kwabena Boateng (NPP) is second; Beatrice Boakye (LPG) is third; Kwabena Owusu Aduomi (Independent) is fourth; Gabriel Agyemang Joseph (Independent) is fifth; and Attakorah Joseph is sixth.
The Ejisu seat became vacant after John Ampontuah Kumah, the constituency’s NPP MP and Deputy Minister of Finance, died on March 7, this year.
