Two people have sustained injuries following a fire outbreak in a fishing community in Anomabo.
The Fire Service says in a swift response to a fire outbreak on Thursday morning, May 2, 2024, at 08:05 hours, two pumps from the ManKessim and Cape Coast Metropolitan Fire Stations promptly intervened to extinguish flames engulfing a fishing community in Anomabo.
Recognising the urgency of the situation, firefighters immediately deployed foam solutions to combat the premix fuel-induced blaze, effectively containing the fire and preventing its further spread.
The service said that despite the efforts of the firefighting teams, the incident resulted in the injuries of two people.
The two affected victims, the service indicated, were promptly transported to the Anomabo hospital by concerned neighbours.
“While investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, preliminary reports indicate damage to property, including two (2) canoes and personal belongings.
However, the rapid response of the fire crew proved instrumental in preventing further devastation and safeguarding numerous buildings and newly carved canoes intended for fishing activities in the area, the service stated in a brief statement.
