The Electoral Commission has announced that it has paid almost all the temporary staff who worked for them during the district-level elections held in December 2023.
A statement issued and signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Michael Boadu, disclosed that 116,211 temporary staff who worked for the EC have been paid.
The statement said GHC 69,164,842.11 has so far been paid to the 116,211 temporal staff.
According to the EC, only 46 temporary staff have not been paid, and the amount involved GHC 24,263.16.
It added that the EC is modernising its recruitment process for temporary employees by digitising its data collection systems.
The move the EC explained is to enhance and improve the payment methods for all temporary officials and prevent delays.
“Additionally, the digital system will help streamline administrative procedures, reduce paperwork and ensure the accuracy and security of data. This approach is a significant step towards optimizing operational efficiency and resource management within the Commission,” it added.
