The Electoral Commission (EC) says its attention has been drawn to an error-ridden registration slip in the ongoing limited registration exercise.
The slip that is circulating on social media has the bearer of the registration slip registered at Kasoa in the Central Region.
However, the registration slip gives the bearer’s district as Ayawaso North in the Greater Accra Region.
The EC, reacting to this, said the error does not appear on the applicant’s voter’s ID card.
The EC explained that “it reflects on the
Registration Slip which only serves as a reference, should an Applicant seek to replace
his/her Voter ID Card. The error does not affect the eligibility of the Voter.
“We entreat citizens to remain steadfast and repose their confidence and trust in the
Commission to deliver on its mandate,” the statement added.
