The Police have arrested two Togolese for attempting to register in Beum’s ongoing voter registration exercise.
The two are currently in the custody of the Jasikan Municipal Police Command after attempting to participate in Ghana’s ongoing voter registration exercise.
On Sunday, May 19, 2024, National Security personnel detained the two and turned them over to police for further investigation.
The officials told journalists that leaders from a political party allegedly brought the suspects to the Jasikan Municipal Registration Centre on Sunday.
According to them, the political leaders tried but failed to get the accused released on bail.
A similar arrest occurred last week at Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti Region, involving two Nigerians.
The werew also arrested while attempting to register and secured the voter’s ID card.
