Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong, Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s United Kingdom branch, has disclosed that they were responsible for developing and designing the free Senior High School policy.

According to him, the branch has over the years helped establish policies and activities that have contributed to Ghana’s democratic values.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Dr. Ren on Rainbow Radio 92.4FM in the United Kingdom, he stated that the branch is not like any other political grouping, but rather a gathering of intellectuals who have helped develop policies that have impacted Ghana’s progress.

“I am telling you that the NPP has had a significant impact on our country’s democracy, and even the free SHS that we are discussing can be attributed to the UK NPP’s vision and decisions. We always come up with policy directions that help Ghana prosper.” He stated that the NPP has continuously produced policies for Ghana, whilst the NDC UK is unable to identify any policy that has shaped Ghana’s progress.

According to him, he laughs at the NDC UK branch and its leadership because “it appears that they lack the ability to shape policy despite all the skills, experience, and knowledge they have acquired over the years.”

He added that the NDC executives don’t put these skills into use “to influence policy directions for the party to subscribe into those ideas compared to the intellectuals we have in the NPP.

When you come to the NPP UK, we have the human resource capabilities, we have the intellectuals and people who are working so hard and supporting the NPP in Ghana. We were the ones who birthed the other chapters across other countries. We have done our best and keep doing our best to support the party,” he concluded.
