A young man by the name of Yaw Louis has had his left hand slashed in a fight at Toyafie near Bonsu Nkwanta in the Juabuso District of the Western North Region.

He was allegedly attacked by a friend who has been identified as Alaska.

Narrating the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Sikaba indicated the two were engaged in a fight, following which Louis hit Alaska with a stool.

The reporter narrated that Alaska came to separate a fight between Louis and another person.

But Louis turned the heat on Alaska, engaged him in a fight, and allegedly hit his head with a stool.

The situation escalated to the point that a knife that Louis had hidden on his body fell, and Alaska picked it up and allegedly used it to slash off Louis’ left hand.

The situation has shocked residents in the area since the two were known to be the best of friends.

It has also emerged that Alaska had previously threatened to harm Louis, and so when he came to separate the fight, he told him, “You threatened to harm me, so why are you here to separate the fight?”.

Meanwhile, numerous neighbours have told our reporter that Louis has fought practically everyone in the region and recently assaulted the Odikro in the community; as a result, several of them had planned to deal with him if he wrongs them.

The Odikro he attacked allegedly confronted him for beating another guy whose cattle had gone to graze on his farm.

Alaska, who is currently in the custody of the police, has also claimed he attacked Louis in self-defence.

Louis has been admitted to a hospital for medical treatment.
