The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has issued a disclaimer warning pensioners against dealing with some unidentified persons calling them under the guise of assisting them to claim “locked-up balance of their pension” at a fee.
Management, through the disclaimer, said it has not contracted or engaged anyone or institution to assist pensioners to claim any benefit from SSNIT.
SSNIT has therefore cautioned the Ghanaian public, particularly pensioners, not to engage any individual or body purporting to act on behalf of the Trust in this regard.
It also asked pensioners who would be approached by such individuals to report to the nearest Police station or a SSNIT office.
“The public is hereby cautioned not to engage any individual or body purporting to act on behalf of the Trust in this regard.
We encourage the public especially pensioners to report such persons to the nearest Police Station or a SSNIT Office.
Management wishes to state further that processing of SSNIT benefits is free.”
