No quantum of concocted polls by a pro NPP lecturer, Smart Sarpong, will save the failed, corrupt, and insensitive gov’t – MP

Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, has reacted to the latest survey released by Prof. Smart Sarpong, which puts Vice Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of former President John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming presidential election.

He has voiced concerns over the survey, and it’s approach, describing it as concocted.

The presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (NPP), leads as the preferred presidential candidate with 38.9%, closely followed by John Dramani Mahama (NDC) with 36.1%.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (NPP) leads in Ahafo, Ashanti, Bono, Central, Eastern, North East, Western, and Western North.

The baseline survey was conducted by Professor Smart Sarpong, Director of Research and Innovation at Kumasi Technical University (KsTU).

When it comes to the most preferred political party for Election 2024, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) topped with 38.8% against the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 34.5%.

The NDC leads in popularity as the political party respondents are likely to support in the coming election as of April 2024.

Per the findings, the popularity of the NDC is higher than that of the NPP in Bono East, Greater Accra, Northern, Oti, Savannah, Upper East, Upper West, and Volta.

The survey shows that the NPP and NDC are on par in terms of popularity in the Western North.

But reacting to the report, Dr. Apaak questioned the reliability, credibility, and sanctity of the survey.

He opined that the survey was cooked by the government to hoodwink Ghanaians.

He is wondering why the Daily Graphic, a national newspaper, failed to give prominence to other research works done by Globalnfo Analytics led by Musah Dankwah.

He is asking whether the Daily Graphic has become an NPP newspaper and is only interested in publishing stories that will only favour the government.

He stated that no amount of concocted polls will stop Ghanaians from voting out the corrupt, failed, and insensitive NPP government from office.

In his opinion, the NPP has realised it will lose, hence putting in place measures to rig the 2024 general elections.

He, however, served notice that the NPP was on high alert and would not allow the NPP to rig the general elections.

He said it’s a pity that a national Daily has chosen to allow itself to be used for partisan propaganda but affirmed that Ghanaians will not be hoodwinked I to believing the concocted survey.

“No quantum of concocted polls by a pro NPP lecturer like Dr. Smart Sarpong will save the failed, corrupt, and insensitive NPP its candidate, Bawumia. We are alert and will expose every plot and scheme to rig the election for the NPP and Bawumia. Is it not interesting that all the polls by Musah Danqauh, all in favour of John Dramani Mahama, never got space in the Daily Graphic, yet one cooked poll by a proNPP lecturer is slapped on the front page of the Graphic and every other pro NPP paper? I guess the Daily Graphic is fast becoming pro NPP/Bawumia paper too. It’s a pity that a national Daily has chosen to allow itself to be used for partisan propaganda. Ghanaians will not be hoodwinked,” he said.
