Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has advised Vice President Dr Mahamud Bawumia to openly recognise and correct his mistakes.
The traditional ruler gave him the advice when the Vice President paid him a courtesy visit today, June 13, 2024, as part of his regional campaign tour in the region.
He began by commending the Vice President for his efforts to solve urgent issues that touch millions of Ghanaians on a daily basis.
He did, however, advocate humility and candour when faced with limitations or blunders.
He opined that leadership is not merely about avoiding errors but acknowledging them when they occur and swiftly implementing corrective measures thereafter.
He noted noted that Ghanaian voters are willing to be responsive should the Vice President and his NPP government admit their shortfalls and provide the needed solutions.
He also advised the Vice President to continue to stay humble in performing his duties and throughout his political campaign.
Dr Bawumia on his part extended gratitude to the Asantehene for the thoughtful guidance and counsel.
The Vice President pledged to uphold ethical standards throughout his career and to continue self-improvement, embracing advice from the Asantehene, to improve Ghana and its citizens.
