Five people have been arrested in connection with clashes between residents of Kendew and Lassia Tuolu in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region, which led to the deaths of three people.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
Three people were reported dead following the clashes between residents of Kendew and Lassia Tuolu in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region.
The killings were caused by an exchange of gunfire between rival factions in the two tribes over religious customs.
Two persons died on the spot, while a third died from injuries later.
Providing an update on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Rex Antieku said there is currently heavy security in the area to maintain law and order.
He reported that investigations were currently ongoing in both Lassia Tuolu and Kendew.
The police have not disclosed the exact number of people in custody as the investigation continues, but our reporter added that five people have been arrested.
