A driver of a tipper truck with registration number GN: 7842-21 has died following an accident at Krispocity Junction in the in the suburb of Kasoa in Awutu Senya East Municipality.
The driver is said to have died on the spot at the accident scene today, Friday, June 21, 2024.
Two others have also sustained serious injuries and have been rushed to the hospital for medical care.
According to eyewitnesses, the tipper truck was driving from Kasoa to Winneba, but upon reaching the Krispocity City junction, the bucket of the truck forcefully opened and hit the overpass at the Krispocity junction.
This got him trapped, leading to his unfortunate death and the injury of two of his friends who were onboard the truck with him.
Reporting on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Oheneba Ademah said the situation drew the attention of onlookers at the scene.
The two who sustained the injuries and the body of the deceased were sent to the Mother and Child Hospital.
He said it remains unclear what caused the accident.
He went on to say that the truck was speeding at the time of the accident, and that the impact was severe.
