Kadevi Selasy, a 46-year-old National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch communication officer at Awutu Senya West Constituency, has allegedly committed suicide.
The party officer reportedly carried out the act at Nkwadum, a suburb of Awutu Bontrase in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.
He was a driver and operated with one of the online driving hailing apps.
He also worked in a hospital, where he was being considered for a promotion.
Nai Gyanor, the Mporboahene I of Awutu Anim-Akubifa, reacted to the story, describing it as unfortunate.
The traditional ruler said he received numerous calls around 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, that someone had committed suicide.
He rushed to the scene and discovered it was Kadevi Selasy.
Details emerging indicate that the deceased’s wife escorted him to relieve himself, but after several hours of waiting and recognising the husband had not returned, she returned and discovered he was hanging from a tree with a rope around his neck.
The police have been informed and are currently investigating the matter.
