The Sunyani East Constituency Communication Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says all suggestions and claims against Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh are untruths.
Mr. Abubakari Yakubu, popularly known in the political space as “Baba Amando,” described them as speculative conjectures.
He asserted that although the Energy Minister is not an angel, he is also not as arrogant or disrespectful as people perceive.
Baba Armando defended the Energy Minister and maintained that he is a firm and courageous man who is usually mistaken for arrogant and disrespectful.
He made the remarks during an interview on Rainbow Radio 92.4 FM in the United Kingdom via Zoom.
He confirmed that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has settled on the former Education Minister as his running mate for the 2024 presidential election.
He indicated that although there were equally good people who were also considered, the medical doctor was the best compared to the others.
He also disputed the allegations against the running mate that he was arrogant, incompetent, and messed up at the Education Ministry.
He credited him for the “successful implementation” of President Akufo-Addo’s flagship free senior high school policy.
“These speculative conjectures against NAPO will fail. He oversaw the successful implementation of the free SHS policy. Adutwum is expanding on NAPO’s achievements in the Education Ministry. That is why I agreed that Adutwum is similarly good, but NAPO is currently considerably superior because he has the advantage.
He did extremely well and thrived in the Education Ministry. I can also confirm that Dr. Bawumia consulted widely before deciding on his running mate. He submitted his name to everyone who mattered in the Ashanti region as well as the other regions. That’s why the announcement was delayed: he was consulting with people about his running mate,” he told Dr. Ren.
