Former Member of Parliament for Bantama constituency, Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has asked supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to support presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in his choice of running mate.
The private legal practitioner and energy expert, who is currently the Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), thanked individuals who wanted him to be considered as the running mate.
In a statement, he noted that the quest for consideration for the running mate has unveiled and revealed inner sterner strength, a pre-requisite of a real leader-servant soul.
He said that even though the process was not an easy one for the candidate, the party remains thankful for God’s guidance in settling on the Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
Dr. Kokofu disclosed in his statement that he has called the Energy Minister to congratulate him for being selected as the running mate.
He has therefore charged party supporters to rally behind the party’s candidate and ensure that they break the eight-year jinx.
“I have already congratulated Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) on his nomination and have pledged my unflinching support. We shall
together prosecute the Breaking-The-8 Agenda.
Let us all rally behind the Flagbearer and the Running Mate in unity.
Reconciling and energising the rank and file remains the only sure bet to clinch victory in the general elections come 2024.”
