The Concerned National Service Scheme (NSS) Personnel Association of Ghana (CONSPAG) has launched a nationwide strike over unpaid allowances, beginning today, Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
They intend to remain on strike until their allowances are paid.
The Association published a statement on July 2, 2024, highlighting many issues that prompted them to go on strike.
The members stated that they are unable to pay their housing and energy bills, transport themselves to their numerous user agencies, feed themselves at work, and must borrow money from various sources to subsist owing to nonpayment of allowances.
CONSPAG disclosed that government owes them five months’ allowance and university graduates three months’ allowance.
