The Movement for Change France Chapter has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to recognise that President Akufo-Addo’s status as a “clearing agent” accurately reflects the mess his administration has created.
It has thus asked the party to cease pointing fingers at former President John Dramani Mahama as a corrupt personality when the mother serpent of corruption is presiding over the country.
Communication Officer for the Chapter, Monark Dankwah, opined that Nana Addo’s administration has witnessed unprecedented levels of corruption and scandals, which have all been buried without any proper investigation into them.
He said it surprises him that the NPP and its allies had the audacity to even accuse former President John Dramani Mahama of corruption when they have two corrupt people in charge of the country’s affairs right in their own corridors.
He first took a swipe at President Akufo-Addo, saying he has turned the presidency into a clearing facility for his officials who have been caught in corruption-related activities.
He referenced former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu’s description of Akufo-Addo as the “mother serpent of corruption.”
“When you talk about the issue of corruption, nobody can smear my candidate, Alan Kyerematen, with corruption. If Joyce Bawa Mogtari is defending Mahama as incorruptible, it’s her job to do that. We should also ask ourselves who is regarded as the one who is very blunt and speaks the truth on NPPajd; they will point to Kennedy Agyapong. Prior to the 2016 elections, he came out to describe Mahama as corrupt, a thief, and someone who had bought several houses in Dubai.
That same person has turned around today to confess that all the allegations he made against Mahama were false and has since apologized. If that is what he has said, why should I say something different? It has turned out that they lied against him.
The NPP is desperate and struggling over these matters. Martin Amidu was appointed as the Special Prosecutor, and when he was resigning, he referred to President Akufo-Addo as the mother serpent of all corruption because when he (Amidu) investigates corruption and corruption-related activities, they end up at the presidency. Is Daddy Lumba the one at the presidency, or was it Mahama at the presidency when Martin Amidu made those remarks?”
Speaking with Dr. Ren on Rainbow Radio 92.4FM in the United Kingdom, he stated that the NPP has no moral right to discuss corruption because the mother serpent of all corruption cases, President Akufo-Addo, is in charge of the country.
