Member of Parliament for Amasaman, Mr. Akwasi Owusu Afrifa-Mensa, has described President Akufo-Addo as one of the best presidents in our fourth Republican history.
The MP argued that President Akufo-Addo, irrespective of our challenges, has served the country well.
He stated that depending on your political affiliations, you may agree or disagree with his remark.
But a genuine and sincere person would agree with me that the current president is an outstanding leader.
He asserted that Akufo-Addo is one of the boldest presidents we have had in our history, despite all the negative remarks made against him.
This was in response to comments made by Deputy Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mahdi Jibril, who described President Akufo-Addo as a corrupt leader with unprecedented levels of corruption.
Mr. Jibril said the current government has failed the people, created a mess, and worsened the living conditions of the people.
Mr. Jibril stated that the present President promised to bring great economic management, but he has done exactly the opposite.
He went on to urge for the removal of the NPP from office in order to restore the country’s lost pride.
But responding, the MP said, “I can tell you that in this fourth republic, one of the boldest presidents we have had is President Akufo-Addo. One of the best presidents we have had is President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo. It depends on where you are coming from. It depends on which political party you belong to.
But if you are a fair and objective person in Ghana and have no political lenses on, you will know that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is one of the best presidents we have had in this country. That one I want to establish. He is not arrogant; he is competent and has demonstrated leadership,” he said on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM.
