The Nkosuohene of Wawase, near Nkawkaw in the eastern region, Blessing Kwabena Asirifi, has donated mathematical sets to final-year students who will be sitting for the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in his area.
The Rainbow Radio International’s broadcast journalist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist gifted the mathematical sets to final-year students a brief ceremony held over the weekend.
The distribution of the mathematical sets is an annual exercise he organises every year alongside other activities to support education and farming in the area.
In all, seventy final-year students received the mathematical sets.
The beneficiaries were drawn from communities, namely Wawase and Odumasi. and Wesiwesi.
He also distributed 200 exercise books to the students.
Each of the students, etc., was also given GHC 30 as their transportation.
He advised them to remain focused and go into the examination with pride.
He advised them against examination malpractice since that could affect them.
He encouraged them to take their education seriously so they will climb the ladder and pursue higher education, graduate, and come back to contribute to the development of their respective communities and the country as a whole.
To parents, he urged them to invest in their wards so they will pursue higher learning after their basic education.
The Head Master of Wesiwesi Junior High School (JHS), Patrick Agyabeng, who was present at the ceremony, expressed gratitude to the broadcaster for his kind gesture.
He also advised the students to go into the exams without any fears and avoid engaging in activities classified as malpractice.
He later presented a citation on behalf of the people to Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi.
