The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has instructed Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, often known as NAPO, to improve himself in order to present a positive image to Ghanaians.
The traditional ruler advised him that he did not know him to be arrogant or rude, as some have alleged, so he should endeavour to change that reputation.
The Otumfuo made these statements during the NPP leaders’ ceremonial presentation of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to the King of the Asante Kingdom at Kumasi’s Manhyia Palace.
He asked him to uphold the faith placed in him by his political partner.
“As a son, I advised him in the room, but let me tell him again: don’t make Dr. Bawumia regret choosing you as his running mate.” As you depart, be a good servant to him. Do as he instructs you.
“I am merely repeating what I said within; in humility, go and serve him. Be obedient and only do what he asks.
“Some say you’re arrogant. It surprised me because I didn’t notice it when I was training him. Why are many suddenly claiming that he’s turned arrogant?
“I’ll excuse you and pretend that’s not the case, but don’t allow it be the description others give you. We pray that God’s plans for you will come true, and we inform Dr. Bawumia that I have dedicated you to his care. If he offends you, please let me know, and I will deal with him in private,” he said.
