A toddler wrapped in polythene burned because it was mistaken for garbage

A toddler has been burned to ashes at Kasoa Kumbe in the Awutu Senya East Municipality.

The incident occurred after the unidentified mother allegedly dumped her behind a school building.

Details emerging indicate that one of the neighbours spotted a black polythene bag behind the school and disposed of it at a burning refuse dump.

The neighbour took the wrapped polythene bag to the refuse dump, and it was subsequently set ablaze.

It was later discovered that there was a baby in the polythene bag.

Efforts were made to rescue the baby, but it was too late.
