Running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has apologised for the even ‘your Kwame Nkrumah’ comments he made in reference to his comparison between the late former President and President Akufo-Addo.
In a brief statement, the former Energy Minister, who was appointed on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, said he did not mean to denigrate the late President but sought to present the current president as a better leader than Kwame Nkrumah.
According to him, the statement reflected his personal opinion about President Akufo-Addo’s impact as a leader on the late Nkrumah.
He emphasised that he did not mean to denigrate the late Nkrumah or any other president that came before Akufo-Addo.
“I note the concerns raised after my statement. I apologise sincerely and regret any discomfort caused.”
