A seven-year-old boy was electrocuted at Gyedi-Kyekyewere, a Bibiani suburb in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai municipal district of the Western North region.
Blessing Yemo Twotwoo, a seven-year-old child, died unexpectedly in Gyebi, a suburb of Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai district.
According to his older sister, Jackline Mensa, Blessing, his brother, and their colleagues left to play as she was making cassava. She then received a distressing call from his playing teammates informing her that Blessing Yemo Twotwoo had been electrocuted.
She hurried to the scene and discovered his brother struggling to breathe; he was taken to the hospital and confirmed dead.
Samuel Kwagyire, Assembly member for Gyedi Kyekyewere, stated that steps have been taken to prevent similar instances from occurring again.
He also recommended parents to be diligent in the care of their children.
After conducting an investigation by the Police, the deceased’s body was given over to the family for burial.
