A building collapse has led to the death of a mason in Sewua, in the Ashanti region.
The mason, who is in his forties, reported dying after a two-story building he was working on collapsed on him.
The deceased has been identified as Kwaku Gyemfi.
He was the lead constructor at the site and was working with his assistant, believed to be eighteen years old.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased went to the site on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, to construct new pillars to support some collapsing ones and parts of the building that had cracks.
He was alerted by his assistant that part of the building was falling in his direction, but unfortunately, Kwaku Gyemfi was trapped with the structure collapsing on him.
