Socio-political analyst Mr. Piesie Anto has opined that the Democrats in the United States will win the November presidential elections if they settle on Vice President Kamala Harris as their presidential candidate.
President Joe Biden has withdrawn his decision to represent the party as a presidential candidate and endorsed his vice president as the one who is capable of representing the party towards victory.
Speaking on the development, Mr. Anto said it took some Democrats to force Biden to withdraw based on his poor performance in the recent debate and, most importantly, his physical health.
He said all these issues were part of the reasons he was forced to withdraw from the race.
The analyst told Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM that the Democrats are yet to make a decision to settle on a candidate for the party.
“But if Harris is selected as the presidential candidate, it will go to the advantage of the Democrats instead of having a new person. But Harris is. A woman is pure white or Caucasian. These two issues go against her,” he argued.
He stated that Biden has done his best and had the country at heart, but his psychic health will no longer allow him to move forward as the presidential candidate.
He said the Democrats are likely to win sympathy votes, and those who had previously withdrawn their financial support for the party because of Biden will return, which is something positive for the party.
