Fire has gutted a four-room apartment and several other shops at Assin Fosu in the Central Region, destroying properties worth thousands of cedis.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
Residents who were affected by the outbreak could not salvage any of their belongings due to the intensity of the fire.
In an interview with Nyankonton Mu Nsem’s Oheneba Ambrose, some of the residents said the fire was first started after a gas explosion in the area.
He noted that the specific area where the outbreak occurred was Adembra Station.
He reported that several properties were destroyed before the fire service arrived at the scene.
He stated that efforts were made to salvage the property of those affected, but the efforts proved futile.
Meanwhile, the GNFS has launched an investigation into the incident.
