The Member of Parliament for Builds South, Dr. Clement Apaak, has reacted to the naming of former President John Dramani Mahama as Government Official 1 in the Airbus scandal and the clearing of his name by the Office of Special Prosecutor.
He described the latest update by the Special Prosecutor as welcoming news.
Dr. Apaak opined that efforts were made by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to spin, insinuate, and accuse Mr. Mahama of wrongdoing regarding the matter.
But he has been exonerated from any wrongdoing by the OSP.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has identified former president John Dramani Mahama as Government Official 1 in the Airbus Scandal.
The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, speaking at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, August 8, also confirmed the brother of the former president, Samuel Mahama, as intermediary 5.
Providing an update on the matter, he stated that John Dramani Mahama was identified as Government Official 1 and Individual 1 by the UK and US courts, respectively, but played no role in the acquisition.
Reacting to this, Dr. Apaak said, “After all the accusations, insults, and noise, the OSP has exonerated John Dramani Mahama of any wrongdoing in the Airbus saga. John Dramani Mahama remains incorruptible”.
He stressed that all the efforts deployed by the PNP to demoralise the former president have failed and that they are unhappy at the turn of events.
He was thankful that God has “exposed the corrupt Akufo-Addo and Bawumia NPP governments and their side kicks.”.

H.E. John Dramani Mahama has been exonerated and vindicated by the Office of Special Prosecutor [OSP] in the Airbus matter.
We have always maintained that the so-called Airbus saga, as far as John Dramani Mahama is concerned, was a bogus allegation being propagated by the ‘Mother Serpent of Corruption’ led NPP government and its operatives. God has once again exposed the corrupt Akufo-Addo and Bawumia NPP government and its side kicks.
