A Nigerian transgender woman has been found dead.
The 33-year-old social media sensation’s beaten and bruised body was discovered along a highway in the capital, Abuja, on Thursday, according to local media.
The Nigerian Police are currently investigating the matter.
Known as “Abuja Mama” on Tik-Tok, the transgender woman came out and was later found dead.
The deceased was also identified as a sex worker and was also known as Ifeanyi.
Prior to her death, the deceased disclosed threats and attacks thrown at her.
Details emerging indicate that she had disclosed on social media that she was going to meet the boyfriend but was later found dead.
Detectives visited the crime scene on Thursday to gather evidence to assist them with their probe into the matter.
A preliminary investigation has also revealed that Abuja Mama was a man fully dressed in female clothing with no means of identification.
Chief of Police in Abuja, Benneth Igweh, said he has called for a “thorough and discreet” investigation into the incident.
