The Ghana Police Service has interdicted two police officers for allegedly extorting money from a motor pillion rider in Accra.
The two officers have been identified as Lance Corporal Philimon Agbevem and Lance Corporal Peter Gbadagbo.
The incident reportedly occurred on July 22, 2024.
A statement issued by the Police disclosed that the interdicted officers were placed under immediate investigation on August 9, 2024, after the allegations, which went viral, caught the attention of police leadership.
The officers are currently assisting with the investigation and will undergo the due process of the law, the statement added.
