NPP promised us honey and sugar but they’ve delivered bitterness – Manuribe

August 16, 2024
Richard-Manuribe-2

A communications team member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Richard Manuribe, has stated that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) promised to Ghanaians honey and sugar let hours but has delivered a bitter experience to the people.

The communicator said that while seeking political power, the NPP, led by then-candidate Akufo-Addo, promised Ghanaians better living conditions, but they worsened the conditions for Ghanaians.

He noted that when the NPP refers to the NDC as a scary alternative, it sounds funny because they (NPP) have ended up messing up the economy, amassing wealth for themselves and their cronies, recklessly borrowing, and yet have nothing prudent to show for their stewardship.

‘’We were in this country when someone promised us honey and sugar that Ghana was going to be transformed. They promised us massive job creation and a robust economy, but we are seeing the opposite of their promises.

He asked Ghanaians to trust in former President John Dramani Mahama because he is an experienced leader with the needed skills to help transform the country, create more opportunities, and restore hope.

Manuribe said a vote for the former President Mahama is a vote for accountable governance, incorruptible governance, jobs, and better living conditions.

He made the remarks on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM while adding that the new NDC government will complete all abandoned projects under his leadership, complete the ones started by the ruling NPP, and reset the country.

He said, ‘’the NDC will reset Ghana and bring the economy to normalcy if elected president in the 2024 elections. The core objective of the NDC government will be the creation of jobs, which is why our candidate, John Dramani, has proposed the 24-hour economy, a policy he said would be linked to aggressive food production and modernisation of agriculture’’.

Richard Manuribe was optimistic that the NDC would win and roll out policies that would address the high rate of unemployment, corruption, and mismanagement. The NPP’s candidate does not have what it takes to manage the country. The NPP is an empty and consumable government.
