Two people have been killed in a robbery attack at Wallembelle, in the Sissala East municipality of the Upper West region.
The incident occurred on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
According to the details available, the robbery attack occurred around 7:00 p.m. when four armed men targeted and robbed a mobile money vendor in the village.
The robbers were said to have arrived on two motorbikes and stormed the mobile money shop, firing sporadically.
They also ransacked the premises and made off with an undisclosed sum of money.
Further details also revealed that after the robbers had looted the shop, two of them struggled to start their motorbike, delaying their escape.
Tordia Munkailu, now deceased, attempted to raise the alarm and pursued the robbers.
However, the robbers allegedly shot him and another victim, identified as Fuseini Benorwuo.
The robbers fled the scene and abandoned the malfunctioning motorbike.
The police are currently investigating the matter.
