Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has appealed to Ghanaian voters to vote massively for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The former president is of the view that the economist and former deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana is the right person to lead.
He said this was a video presentation at the launch of the manifesto of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“We are entreating the nation to give Bawumia a chance. I see him as a man of destiny, particularly for the moment we are in now. I believe he is the man of the moment,” Mr. Kufuor said.
He touted the digitisation agenda initiative championed by the Vice President.
He said the man is an experienced economist, studied politics, and, when given the opportunity, will deliver.
He was also hopeful that the mandate of the NPP would be accepted by every Ghanaian.
“I believe in the man of the moment–the whole world is talking about digitalisation. Bawumia is cut for the occasion, custom-made. He studied politics, and he was born into politics, because of his loyalty to the tradition which is why the party gave him a chance to lead.”
“We are presenting a custom-made candidate to Ghana, a candidate that understands geopolitics and his policy will bring on board sound relationships and his call will be in the interest of the country. A candidate that will digitalise the economy and social policy. He’s a man of destiny and a very insightful, humble person.”
“The manifesto our candidate will present will be accepted by all Ghanaians, with the hope that he is the man of the moment.”
