The Assemblyman for Denkyira Kyekyewere in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality Kwabena Boateng is currently in the custody of the police for allegedly shooting and killing an individual suspected of stealing from his cocoa shed.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
According to information gathered by Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the suspect had complained of thieves stealing from his cocoa shed.
The stealing activities the Assemblyman claimed resulted in the loss of 35 bags of cocoa from his shed.
The deceased have been identified as 16-year-old Razak.
He had an accomplice with him who has also been identified as 20-year-old Agyaku.
They were accused of stealing cocoa bags from the assemblyman’s shed for some time.
The assemblyman is said to have reported the issue to the police but received no response.
He is said to have caught the two on the night of the incident and allegedly shot them.
Meanwhile, relatives of Razak have described the allegations that their son was a thieve as false.
According to them, it was Agyaku who was a bad influence on the deceased.
