A 30-year-old man has committed suicide at Yaayemma in Sunyani East of the Bono Region.
He has been identified as Samuel Gito, a mason.
He was found hanging in his room with a suicide note left behind.
Reporting on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Nana Kwame revealed that another friend of the mason had secured a contract and so called him on the phone so he would join him and they would go execute it.
However, he did not pick up the calls, and so he asked two of his workers to go to his apartment to inform him about the job.
They went and knocked on his door several times, but nobody opened the door.
Following this, the friend who is a carpenter joined his workers to go back to the apartment of the mason and forced the door to open.
To their shock, they found him hanging and leaving behind a suicide note.
A Bible that had been opened to Psalm 59:1–5 was also seen in the room.
It is believed that the deceased read the Bible before he allegedly took his life.
The Bible quotation read “59 Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.
2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
3 For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Lord.
4 They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.
5 Thou therefore, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.”
