Reports reaching Rainbowradioonline.com indicate that a shooting incident has been recorded at Anum Apapam South Electoral Area in the Eastern region.
The report states that some individuals have been shot and have sustained gunshot wounds.
The victims have been sent to the hospital for medical attention.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Mr. Takyi Ebenezer confirmed the incident.
He attributed the incident to a chieftaincy dispute currently ongoing in the area.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong that the situation created fear and panic, but personnel from the police service have been deployed to the area to maintain law and order.
Although he admitted not to have witnessed the shooting incident, he said the shooting occurred.
He said no death has been recorded, but three people sustained injuries.
He said the chief of the area had passed and was recently buried and traditional leaders in the area had planned to organised some rites to replace him.
”However, when we awoke Tuesday morning, there was tension everywhere, with gunshots all over the place. Traders who came to trade had to flee for their lives. However, as I speak, the police have intervened and order has been restored.
The Police has launched an investigation into the matter.
