murder

A man has allegedly killed his wife and their two-month-old baby at Washington in the Kpone Katamanso district.

The man who is currently on the run is said to have allegedly killed the wife and the baby after accusing the wife of infidelity.

The man, who has been identified as Jacob Akpandango Asibi, allegedly committed the gruesome act over suspicions that he was not the biological father of the child.

Some residents commenting on the matter claimed that the tension between the couple dates a month back as the husband lamented that the two-month-old baby was not his.

The residents and neighbours have described the incident as shocking, with some of them wondering why the man failed to do a DNA test to determine if he was indeed not the father.

‘’This is shocking. The man had been fighting with the wife and claimed he was not the biological father of the baby. But the point is that if you are not the father, you could have done a DNA to be sure and not to kill the wife and the baby,’’ a resident said.

‘’The man should have done DNA before taking any action. It was only DNA that could have been conclusive if he was the father or not. I think from what has happened, we have to take depression really seriously. The fight between them started very long ago, and I think they should seek help,’’ another individual said.

The police are currently on a manhunt for the suspect after launching an investigation into the matter.
