Awutu Senya East Member of Parliament Mavis Hawa Koomson has appealed to party supporters to support the campaign of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ensure that victory is chalked in the December 7, 2024 general elections.
The MP, who is also the Fisheries Minister, said they must move to every corner of the constituency and campaign vigorously so the victory of the NPP will be massive.
According to her, the party is poised to retain the seat in the constituency to continue with the good works by the NPP.
She admitted that the elections would not be easy, but victory will surely be on the side of the NPP if the members dedicate to an intensive campaign.
Madam Koomson was addressing the media after filing her nomination to contest the 2024 parliamentary election on Monday, September, 9 2024.
She was optimistic of victory, saying, ‘’I am grateful to the NPP for their endorsement as their parliamentary candidate. I have submitted my forms, and I am hopeful I have met all the requirements. We are now going back to continue our campaign. Victory will surely be on our side, just like in the previous election.
But I have admonished them (party members) that we should not entertain those who would want to distract us. The only important thing is that we are going to campaign from house to house, kitchen to kitchen, bedroom to bedroom to bedroom, toilet to toilet, market to market, community to community and campaign. We have policies and a message, and that is what we will sell to Ghanaians so they will vote for us.’’
She then apologised to party supporters and asked them to forgive her; she had in any way offended them while disputing assertions that she was arrogant and disrespectful.
