Manager for the Social Security and National Insurance Trust’s (SSNIT) Self-Employed Enrolment Drive (SEED) initiative, Mr. Ricahrd Manu, has admonished employers and other stakeholders to assist their new employees to access the trust’s services via its digital platforms.
Mr. Manu disclosed this during the annual Employers Breakfast Meeting organised by SSNIT for some selected employers and stakeholders in Accra yesterday.
Under the theme, “Maximising the use of digital platforms to improve contribution collection and payment,” the meeting was to serve as a platform to provide feedback for the Trust and to help strengthen the Trust’s relationship with employers.
It also formed part of an effort to interact with its stakeholders, share ideas, and also use the platform to educate them on new initiatives meant to enhance the Tier One Pension Scheme.
Mr. Manu explained that the SSNIT Digital Bouquet, which includes a new website and portal, an upgraded USSD platform, and the much-anticipated SSNIT Mobile App,.
These digital initiatives aim to enhance service quality and align with contemporary trends.
He said SSNIT requires employers to ensure that contributions are accurately deducted from the full earnings (that is, consolidated salaries) of their workers and remitted to SSNIT.
He stated that employers are to submit and validate their contribution reports using SSNIT’s digital platforms and pay contributions of employees via SSNIT digital bouquet at any of the partner banks.
The employers are to also monitor their accounts and access other services through the digital platforms, serve as partners in promoting the SSNIT scheme and the value it offers to employees and self-employed, support SEED to ensure every eligible worker in Ghana receives a pension, and give feedback since the Trust sees the feedback is vital in shaping its business and service salary.
