The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has criticised the recent ‘Enough is Enough’ demonstration held by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) against the Electoral Commission (EC).
The party says the demonstration held by the NDC was unjustifiable due to their failure to submit the evidence to support the alleged discrepancies detected.
General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong said the party and Ghanaians cannot comprehend why the NDC has failed to submit any evidence to support their allegation of illegal voter transfers and deletion of names of some voters.
Mr. Kodua Frimpong should have submitted its evidence to help the EC address the issues raised.
The chief scribe noted that the NDC is alleging that it has detected 243,540 illegal transfers, 3,957 deleted names of voters, as well as over 15,000 unidentified voters in the provisional register.
‘’Yet 13 days after the NDC first notified the EC, on September 9, 2024, they have still not provided a single document to authenticate any of these allegations. We ask, is this not interesting? Indeed, if the NDC has any evidence of illegal transfers, why have they not submitted evidence of such an illegality to be reversed by the EC? We strongly believe the nationwide demonstration by the NDC would have been justified had the EC failed to act after receiving evidence from the NDC on the alleged irregularities and discrepancies.’’
He said the NDC has a despicable record of throwing allegations around without any substantive evidence.
