The Adhoc Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining has rejected claims made by Kwame Baffoe, NPP Bono Regional Chairman, suggesting that Organised Labour requested payment to call off a planned strike.
A press statement issued on Thursday, September 19, 2024, and signed by Chairman and Minister for National Security Albert Kan-Dapaah, characterized the allegations as ‘baseless and unfounded.’
The committee advises the public to dismiss these claims, noting that financial demands were not made during its engagement with Organised Labour.
“No such demand has been made, and no such payment has been made either,” the statement clarified.
“The engagement between the Committee and Organised Labour was held in good faith and without inducement,” he said.
