The Ministry of Religious and Chieftaincy Affairs and the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs have suspended the operation of the La Traditional Council indefinitely.
The Council has been suspended to allow the Regional House and Ministry to implement measures for the Council’s smooth operation.
A statement issued announcing the suspension advised all governmental institutions not to engage with individuals or groups claiming to represent the La Traditional Council.
Aside from that, Paramount Stool Land issues are now on hold pending the Council’s reopening or the enstoolment of a new La Paramount Chief, as stipulated in Section 45 of the Chieftaincy Act.
