The Electoral Commission (EC) has disclosed that number of registered voters on the current register who are expected to vote in the upcoming general elections.
The figure was revealed by the EC at an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held in Accra on October 1, 2924.
The electoral body said that the total number of valid voters stands at 18,772,795. Of these, 9,690,173 are females, while 9,082,622 are males.
Madam Jean Mensa, the Commissioner, said the registered voters have 708,282 first-time voters.
She said that the special voters list includes security personnel and election officials, number 131,475.
The EC added that there are 332,110 transferred voters, indicating those who have changed their voting locations.
Aside from these figures, there are 2,167 proxy voters who will vote on behalf of others who would be unable to vote on December 7, 2024.
The register further lists 32,974 applicants on the exceptions list and 26,798 on the multiple lists.
