Oliver Ofori Baah, Youth Organiser of the Ablekuma Central branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that election outcomes are not determined by prophecies.
He indicated that Ghanaians believe in the policies of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia because his policies are better and will help transform the country.
The remarks were made following a prophecy by Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah that God has entrusted the nation to former President John Dramani Mahama due to his compassionate nature.
The man who had previously prophesied that Mr. Mahama would never become president again because his hands were stained shocked some Ghanaians. He joined an engagement organised by Mr. Mahama with the clergy in Accra and said the man would take over as president after the next elections.
Although Oliver Ofori Baah did not specifically mention or reference the prophecy by Rev. Owusu Bempah, he said no prophecy can win any political party an election but policies and programmes.
‘’By the grace of God Almighty, Ghanaians will retain the NPP and not vote us out of government. The good policies and transformation we have seen in our lives will influence voters to vote for us. Ghanaians will reward the NPP and Dr. Bawumia for what we have achieved. Bawumia will take over as the next president of Ghana. Prophecies do not win anyone an election. Prophecies do not vote in an election. It takes hard work, good policies, and a dedicated government to win an election. We are assured that the policies of Dr. Bawumia are sound and bold, and because of that, Ghanaians will vote for him,’’ he said on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM.
