Percival Kofi Akpaloo, the Liberal Party of Ghana’s (LPG) presidential candidate, has reacted to questions surrounding his opposition to the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) proposal for the Electoral Commission (EC) to undertake a forensic audit of the electoral register.
Mr. Akpaloo said the request by the NDC lacked merit; hence, it was not proper for him to have supported them.
He stated that the opposition NDC has also failed to justify their call or provide any evidence to substantiate their allegations.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the televised Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting exposed the NDC’s agenda.
He said after the Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting, the NDC has abandoned their calls to a forensic audit, wondering if the call was even justified in the first place.
“The NDC has abandoned their call for a forensic audit after the televised IPAC meeting. The call for a forensic audit lacked merit and was baseless. So I cannot support blindly because someone is raising concerns when these concerns have no merit or basis.
I don’t know why Ghanaians wanted me to support the NDC on the Callfbro forensic audit when they failed to provide any evidence to support their claims. You cannot use emotions and sentiments to make comments. I cannot peddle lies and falsehoods,” he added.
