The government of Ghana says the decision by Organised Labour to strike on October 10, 2024, is surprising.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Information indicated that it was shocking that Labour was still planning a strike despite the meeting they held with President Akufo-Addo.
The statement signed by Minister Fatimatu Abubakar maintained that the government remains committed to fighting against galamsey.
She also revealed that the government has agreed to revoke the Environmental Protection Regulations 2023 (L.I 2462) when Parliament reconvenes.
