A fatal accident at Atwedie, near Juaso, on the Kumasi-Accra highway has led to the death of seven people.
Several others have also sustained different degrees of injuries.
The accident occurred following a head-on collision between a VIP bus and a Sprinter bus at Atwedie, near Juaso, on the Kumasi-Accra highway.
The Sprinter bus, with registration number AS 6413-16, was travelling from Accra to Kumasi while the VIP bus, with registration number AC 1550-17, was heading to Accra from the northern part of the country when the accident occurred on Friday, October 11.
Rainbowradioonline.com gathered that all five passengers aboard the Sprinter bus that was transporting tomatoes died.
One passenger on the VIP bus also died.
Another passenger who was also on the VIP bus died while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Personnel from the Fire Service recovered the bodies trapped in the vehicles, and they have been deposited at the Steward Mortuary in Yawkwei.
