Sokoohemaa Kukua, a breast cancer awareness advocate, has urged employers to give their employees, particularly women, time off in October to have their breasts examined.

The award-winning media personality and host of Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s midmorning show stated that it would allow them to know the status of their breasts.

Sokoohemaa Kukua stated that it will aid in detecting any typical changes in the breast and seeking early treatment.

She stated that some changes may indicate a serious condition, such as breast cancer, emphasising the importance of having the breasts examined regularly.

The media personality, who is also the founder of the Sokoohemaa Foundation, believes that early detection of breast cancer allows people to be treated and avoid complications associated with the condition.\

Sokoohemaa Kukua stated that breast cancer is not a death sentence; however, a delay in treatment may result in serious complications.

”Breast cancer is not fatal; if detected early, it can be treated. You need to be examined. Several survivors are now living normal lives because they were diagnosed and treated early.

Her organisation is one of the sponsors of the Rainbow Radio and Trust Hospital’s Free Breast Screening Exercise on October 25, 2025.

She encouraged the station’s listeners and others, particularly women, to take part in the exercise.
