Former President John Dramani Mahama has asked President Akufo-Addo to stop sleeping if he wants to know his thoughts on the free Senior High School Policy.
His response follows President Akufo-Addo’s comments about Mr. Mahama’s position on free SHS.
The President took a swipe at Mr. Mahama, claiming that a vote for him would result in the repeal of several of his policies, including his flagship education policy, free SHS.
He also accused Mahama of shifting his position on the free SHS policy.
Addressing party supporters in Ningo Prampram on Thursday, October 167, 2024, Mahama chastised the president, claiming that he had repeatedly expressed his concerns about the Free SHS policy and the galamsey (illegal mining) crisis.
According to him, the president was either not listening or purposefully ignoring his positions on these critical issues, which were already widely known and publicised.
“He (Akufo-Addo) is not in this country, or he has been sleeping because I have made it clear that there are implementational problems with the Free SHS. One there is no dedicated funding. Two, parents are also not happy with the double track system. Three, the quality of food the children are being given is not good, and so I have said that the NDC is going to come and fix these three things.”
