Carl Wilson, a former member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), described President Akufo-Addo as a failed leader.
He stated that the president, in whom Ghanaians have faith, has disappointed the people, particularly those who supported him and campaigned for his election.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he claimed that the president has failed so miserably that former President John Dramani Mahama appears to be an alternative, despite the fact that he is not.
He said Mr. Mahama is not a candidate who is an option because he was totally rejected with a wide margin in the 2016 general elections.
“After only four years, voters completely rejected Mahama. On election night, I knew who had won. “I knew Akufo-Addo had won,” he explained.
Carl Wilson stated that ”although it was expected that Akufo-Addo would be an exceptional president, he has performed poorly, and it has made people see Mr. Mahama as better. Akufo-Addo has made Mahama look good. He is still making Mahama look good because his governance is horrible. Mahama was so bad that I had to declare that if we had a president that would be worse than Mahama, then it would be the devil himself. That was what I said. So if you see what Akufo-Addo has done—the atrocious governance he has given to this country—it will make Mahama look good. Mahama’s shoulders are high, and he is telling Ghanaians that he can save them or that he is the saviour. What a saviour would he be if judged from what he and his ministers did?
He has also challenged former President John Dramani Mahama to tell Ghanaians the actual cost of the ‘Circle Dubai’ project if he wants to be taken seriously.
The allegations of Mr. Mahama having houses in Dubai, he noted, cannot be fiction and may have some reality to them.
‘’Let Mahama come and tell Ghanaians how much the Circle Dubai cost the nation. Let him come and tell Ghanaians what the project cost us,’’ he stressed.
